Taking full advantage of plywood’s superb flexibility, the Loop Table by Barber & Osgerby is a feat of craftsmanship and an ingenious use of negative space. The table marked the beginning of a productive relationship between Isokon and the studio. During the relationship, ideas around the efficient use of plywood, as initiated by Breuer, were exhaustively explored.

The Loop Table’s body is made of two plywood elements connected seamlessly to give the appearance of an unbroken line. Low-slung and fluid, the Loop Table is a daring design that proved pivotal for the then-emerging design studio Barber & Osgerby. Today, Loop retains its unique appeal.
