The slender Ballot Chair weighs very little and stacks easily, desirable characteristics for a solid timber chair. The chair’s profile has been reduced to a minimal form. The design uses layers of aeroply, a particularly fine veneer, to construct an extremely thin seat.

A slot reveals how thin the construction is and gives the chair its name, as it resembles a ballot box. The Ballot Chair was launched to commemorate the twenty-first anniversary of Barber & Osgerby’s first collaboration with Isokon.
