The slender Ballot Chair weighs very little and stacks easily, desirable characteristics for a solid timber chair. The chair’s profile has been reduced to a minimal form. The design uses layers of aeroply, a particularly fine veneer, to construct an extremely thin seat.

A slot reveals how thin the construction is and gives the chair its name, as it resembles a ballot box. The Ballot Chair was launched to commemorate the twenty-first anniversary of Barber & Osgerby’s first collaboration with Isokon.

Finishes

All Ballot Chairs receive a hand-applied, low-sheen finish for a long-lasting protection that preserves the woods inherent look and feel.

Our Black Stained finish is added to solid oak in successive coats that result in an especially rich and durable surface.

Alternatively, a hardwax oil finish is available on request.
