The original Isokon Penguin Donkey was designed to hold a library of Penguin paperback books. This small but mighty piece of furniture represents leisure and relaxation and is intended as a convenient and mobile companion to Isokon’s lounge furniture. The original Donkey has earnt iconic status and its typology has been reworked several times over Isokon’s history. Perhaps its enduring appeal can be attributed to its usefulness and an abundance of graceful curves. Today the Donkey remains a popular do-all piece of furniture that can be used in any room of any home.
